Sale of High Speed 1
OMERS Private Markets sought the approval of the Investment Committee to proceed with the disposition of its interest in High Speed 1 (HS1). HS1 operates the 109km high-speed rail line connecting London St Pancras International station with the Channel Tunnel, under a 30-year concession agreement with the U.K. Secretary of State, signed in 2010.
Following a question and discussion period, the Investment Committee approved the sale.
In a press release issued on July 14, 2017, OMERS and OPM announced that Borealis Infrastructure and Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan entered into a definitive agreement to sell HS1 to a consortium comprising funds advised and managed by InfraRed Capital Partners Limited and Equitix Investment Management Limited.
