Pansy

City of Toronto | 30 years

I work for the City of Toronto, Children's Services Division, and I have been working for 30 years.

My proudest moments are seeing parents develop their voice to advocate for the rights of their children with special needs, seeing children develop to their full potential. As well as parents just saying thank you! Then, I know I've done my job and I have made a difference in their lives.

I usually spend by spare time socializing with friends, engaged physical activity, watching movies or reading.

What's important to me in retirement is good health and the financial stability to travel. My pension is one of my main sources of income.

My bucket list item is travelling around the continent of Africa, which I've started. Ghana was my first country.

Social Value of the Plan

The OMERS defined benefit plan isn’t just important to our members. Research confirms that the OMERS Plan generates social and economic value for communities in Ontario, underscoring the importance of preserving OMERS as a defined benefit pension plan.
